JZ The Forgetful Kid

We wondered and wondered.
It was frustrating but we thought of something.
We tried pulling on it.
We tried stuffing it with toilet paper. Then we pulled it with the toilet paper in it.
It came off a little bit, but it went back on.
Then we looked at it again and it looked like a mask and a wig.
It was, I forgot I was wearing a mask and a wig.

AG Bad Day

Arron did not put his shoes on his feet right.
He said hello then he could not talk because his mouth was glued.
His dad yelled at him because he glued his mouth by himself.
Then he rode his bike and his pedal and chain fell off.

RG My Bad Day

I fell off my bike, so I screamed.
Then I rode my bike down the hill and my pedal fell off.
When I was at my friends we fell off the bike when my seat fell off.
I made my bed because I can do stuff right.

JT's Bad Day

Jesse was walking to the bus.
He tripped over the rock and fell flat on his face.
Then he drove the bus when the bus driver got off.
It is a bad day because I got a bloody nose.

CH My Bad Day

When I went to school I was tired because I stayed up late.
We had to do a lot of work because the teacher gave it to us.
When we went outside we played football because it is fun.
I wasn't happy because I never got the ball.
They wouldn't give me the ball because I was never on a real team.
But I am better than them. Some of them.
That was my bad day.

ID My Bad Day

I woke up then I walked to the door.
I fell down the stairs and I smashed the lamp and then I accidently broke the fishbowl but the fish wasn't in there.
My mom said calm down.
I said I am so mad. I went to school and got tripped.
I calmed down a little bit at school.
I was feeling better by the time I went home.
That night I went to sleep and the next day I felt better.

BF My Bad Day

My mom woke me up and made me cranky.
I was really tired because I had a long, rough day yesterday.
I did not want to get up but I finaly got up and tripped over the coffee table.
After I fell down the stairs, I went to eat breakfast.
I went to school and tripped on my shoelace and I fell again.
I tied my shoe and I ran home to lay down on the couch.

One day I got up and said it is going to be a bad day.
I fell on a rock.
My tv didn't work.
It is a very bad day.
The next day came by and it was a better day.

CS Good Day

Caleb got out of bed and started a good day.
He put his clothes on.
They fit good.
Caleb went outside and played with his dog Diva.
He rode his dirt bike.
It was loud.

Pete had a bad day.
He put on his clothes.
He put on his sneakers.
He counted to ten and started a new day.

KJs bad Day

I went to bed with water in my bed.
I woke up soaking wet.
My little brother Joey flushed the toilet when I was in the shower.
I went after him but I slipped and fell onto the floor.
I told my dad.

RG What I Found

I looked for a coin in the dirt.
Me and my sister looked in the dirt for her to find a coin.
I went to the store to buy a bike.
It was worth a thousand dollars.

JZ What I Found

One day I was digging in the sand and I saw a skeleton.
I called the town and the town came and got it.
They were going to give me money.
But my dog took a bone and they did give me some money but they had to turn the bone around so nobody would see the chew marks.

One day I was digging in the sawdust and I found a jackknife.
I already had two. I asked my mom if I could keep it. She said yes.
I was thrilled. I showed my dad and my brothers. It was really small.

ID What I found

I was digging in the backyard for money like coins. I didn't find any coins. But, I heard a click sound. Money I thought. But it was a just a bottle cap. Then I saw a guy. This is worthless I told the guy. The guy told me where to dig. Next to the building I found some money.

BF What I Found

I was digging in the backyard for a bike. I didn't find a bike.
But, I found all kinds of money. It was in a black suitcase.
I didn't tell anybody. I hid it in my locked closet.
A waited a year until there was new stuff out and then I went shopping.
I bought a blue mountain bike.
I spent the rest of my money on a wallet and a jeep.

Jessie found the 2000 year old treasure chest.
And it was filled with treasure.
I buyed the pool. The big ones you put in the ground. Those ones are good.
And I bought a play station 3.

One day I was digging and I found something green.
I said I am going to find out what it is.
I came back and I got the green stuff.
It was money! I saved the money.

I found a dirt bike. It was in my mom's lawn.
I rode my dirt bike and I put gas in it.
It was loud.

NH What Joy didn't want to find.

Noone wanted to find the coin.
It is dirty.
It was in there for 300 years ago.
It was a long time ago.

LH Earth Day

Earth Day is about saving the world.
One thing we can do is plant new trees.
We should not litter.
We like go outside and we pick up trash.
We have boxes in Mr. Gs that we recycle.

The junk pile robot.
Bethann came up with a plan to use the junk to make a robot.
His name is J.R.
Bethann had to get the robot to stop.
J.R. cut the bushes.
J.R. was a fountain.

Make sure it is clean.
We can make a bird feeder.
Hang the bird feeder in a good place.
I just want to look at the birds, maybe they will have babies.
Build a bird home and put a nest in the bird home for a bed.
When the mother bird is going to lay eggs NH will check and kiss the baby birds eggs goodnight.

If I had $ 100 I would buy a Nintendo wii and games.
We will hit each other with darts.
They will make a pool inside my house.
My butler will make me a turkey.

I learned that the Titanic could sink. The first time I thought it couln't.
I learned that rich people and poor people got on.
The Titanic had a whole bunch of rooms. It had a gym and a swimming pool.
It hit an iceberg and it sunk.
There was a lot of people on it but only 3 life boats.

I like to ride my four wheeler with Tiffany. My Easter candy was good.

A wizard is flinging fire at the town. But owl man knuckle rockets.
I hit the wizard. I am owlman. Who are you?

I ripped his hat with my claws. The wizard is a good guy. But owlman
did not know that.

I am a Ryan the wizard and I am saving a dog from falling in a man hole.
The wizard is saving the town from the witch.
I am going to catch her broom on fire so she goes away.
I will save the children in the town.
So they will be safe.

Tonya was mean.
It was a bad day.
The teacher said be nice for six hours.

KJ The Girl Fight

One girl was nice and one girl was mean. Why don't you gug off said the nice girl to the mean girl that was picking on them. Why don't you leave us alone.
I won't leave you alone said the mean girl. Then I will tell the principal or maybe I should just kick your butt said the nice girl.
The mean girl turned into a nice girl.

BF The Bully

Susan said be nice or I will tell on you. If you do not stop picking on us you will be in trouble. Susan said stop it now! Susan told the principal on Tonya. Tonya got in trouble. The girl said she would never do it again. Susan told the principal it is okay because Tonya is my friend too. They are really all my friends.

BF Leprechaun

I saw a Leprechaun in the woods. I told him to wish me to the rain bow so I could get the gold. He told me to look at a bird.

I found the rain bow in the woods. There was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I stole the Irish gold.
I kept one piece of the gold. I gave the Leprechaun his gold back. He gave me one wish. I wish for a new snowboard. He said here you go.

CH A Lucky Day

One day I was walking on a trail and I saw a little person. I quietly walked up and grabbed him. It was a Leprechaun. He told me that my shoe was untied. I knew that he was trying to trick me so I put a pair of hand cuff on him. He gave me a pot of gold and I was happy.

I was walking in the forest and I saw some thing walking. When I looked I saw a Leprechaun. He ran. I grabbed him. I said where's the gold? He gave up and he told me where the gold was. He told me it was in my house in the toilet. But when I went there it wasn't there. He ran away. Oh great, he tricked me.

JT Hunting for Leprechauns

I was hunting for Leprechauns and I found one in a mushroom. I said show me where the gold is. He said okay. Follow the golden eagle he said. I said okay but you mean the rainbow. He said yes. Later I said Yes I found it. Cool, yes the Irish treasure.

LT Lucky Leprechaun

I saw something and it was a Leprechaun outside. He left a note on my door. It said go into the kitchen. When I went to the kichen I saw gold in the kitchen in the frigrater. I saw two of the Leprechans and they said hi. I took their gold. They didn't mind. Now he is my best friend.

When I went hunting I saw a Leprechaun.
He was in the bushes.
He had a pot of gold.
I said I wish I had a lot of money.
He gave me some money.

NH The Leprechaun

Peg Finn was a Leprechaun. He was getting away from Isaac.
He told hime the gold was in the toilet. That Leprechaun was trying to trick Isaac, until now.
Splash. Isaac pushed the Leprechaun into the toilet and took his gold.

CS Caleb's Lucky Day

I was walking in my house. The Leprechaun left me a note on my door.
The note said your mom is taking a shower so you can come find the gold.
The gold is in the bathroom down stairs. It was in the toilet. I flushed it.
My mom screamed because the water turned cold. I flushed it again.

One day a man and his dog were walking in the street.
The man fell down the hole, his dog too.
A dinasour ate the man. The dog ran.

I am 007 and I am an agent. I diffuse bombs and I knock people out.
I need to knock out the wizard and the witch on this mission.
Before they blow up the town.
I'm going to use smoke pellets. Once there is smoke I will attack.

JC Catch a Leprechaun

I was walking and I heard a soft sound. I looked around and saw a Leprechaun.
He said I will meet you at the old house. At 4:35. I said I will be there. He was
there but it was a decoy. I sprung a trap the Leprechaun said I did not see that coming.
I said I finaly caught a Leprechaun.

JZ If I had a Leprechaun

If I had a Leprechaun he will have a rope. He ran to get away. He could not.
The Leprechaun gave me my reward but I wanted more. I let him go.
Then I caught another Leprechan. I am lucky. I got a lot of gold.

Her friend was being mean.
She said stop it.
She said stick to your own group and be nice to her.
Yes, I will said Susan. I like her.
I won't give up my friendship.

RG Just be friends.

Susan said you need to be nice.
If you don't be quiet I will tell the lunch lady.
She went to sit at a different table to eat.
Susan said I can be friends with who I want.

Reading Tips

"The more you read, the better you get.

* Read aloud to your child every day. (NO matter how old they are.)
* See that he/she has a bed lamp and interesting materials to read nearby in a basket, or box.
* When having a child read to you, wait for the reader to try a new or challenging word.
* Praise the reader for using pictures, noticing mistakes, rereading and fixing mistakes.

When a reader is struggling, wait for the reader to try, then suggest one of the following:

* Read with your finger.
* Look at the picture.
* "Get your mouth ready for the first sound. How does the word start?"
* Ask "Does the word make sense?
Does it look right?
Can you find part of the word you know?
* Sometimes it is easier to start over from the beginning of the sentence.
* Skip the word and read to the end to find a clue.
